In 1984 (I think) …. I was in 7th grade and I got my new school shoes from I-Goldberg. (That’s right, they were so far ahead of the times by using the letter i in front of the name)(there were whispers of their being from the future) but I digress…. Any way I got my school shoes that were also Air Trainers but they sure didn’t look like this…….. 1- they weren’t anywhere near as shiny lol, 2- they sported the windows in the sole and 3- they were blue & white with red accents. Like the strap was white with red Nike lettering. These kicks were my most valued possession at the time and the really cool thing about them , other than the fact I’ve never forgotten about them (which is also completely ridiculous) they were a status symbol or a talking point within my little circle of friends who were also sneaker heads. This is at the time when the Jordan 3’s were out and I think the grey & cement was the 1st color but my friend had just gotten his school shoes which were the blue & cement Jordan 3’s and the color way on them was similar in that they were white & blue with red accents,,,, his had the addition of the cement panels. Haha - wow man. 7th grade sneaker geeks. Now that was cool , at least we thought so.hahahahhaa
