He’s probably in my top 5 rappers, 1 being MF Doom, 2 being Slick Rick, 3 being Action Bronso
This mixtape is nice. I’m really feeling track 4. Shame he straight up bites Doom “your third eye like eye eye captain” bar from Doom’s classic “Accordion”, but cos I like sandman I’ll choose to see it as an homage rather than plagiarism! lol.
Loving track 8. The way he’s talking about use of words and art. The English language and art are the underpinnings of civilisation in my opinion, and he describes it here very eloquently. The best got a good swing to it, almost on the verge of too much and drunken sounding! A good track.
Them track 9 comes in with that chopped 80’s advert sounding beat. His flow on this is very smooth and correct. It’s not easy to rhyme fast and stay in sync (mind you it’s really easy to cheat if using Ableton or Melodyne) still sounds wicked tho. Really dig the production on this one.
You’re right Al, he barely uses the F word, or the N word, and name checks Echart Tolle?? I’m digging that.
Must admit I’ve slept on Sandman for a minute. This mixtape has got me appreciative
