#4 Honey Hills
#2 Blue Sunset
#14 Altogether
#12 Simple Joy - are the ones that took me on an almost hypnotic ride and then brought me safe with track 14 - Altogether. When I see Jazz anywhere as in (Hip Hop Jazz) I think of the greats like John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis. I say these greats specifically because I hear them a lot. I believe they have influenced so many things and this album is no exception. In A Love Supreme ( nothing to do with the supreme brand)HAHAHAHA……anyway, on that album, Coltrane uses the xylophone so track 4 Honey Hills just took to that place with a fresh outlook and like I said, this album took for a ride and brought me back to the sounds that I enjoy so much. My musical world consists of all kinds of styles or genres and I’ve heard a lot but there is nothing better than being turned on to a new group or sound that you enjoy right off get go. This is that for me.
