11-Year-Old BMXer Marshall Gehrke Featured On No Days Off

Digital media company, Whistle Sports has a popular web/TV series called No Day’s Off and their latest one features 11 year old BMX racer Marshall Gehrke AKA “Major Gehrke”. In 2017 became the USA BMX’s #1 Cruiser Champion. In the video we get some insight into Marshall’s life, we get to meet his parents and find out how he got into BMX racing.

One of the coolest things is Marshall is heavily inspired by Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor. the first African-American athlete to achieve the level of world champion and only the second black man to win a world championship, after Canadian boxer George Dixon. Major Taylor is the reason why Marshall has his nickname “Major Gehrke”

In the video we also get to see Marshall getting busy on his bike doing races, hitting the skate parks and showing off for the people. We also get to meet his mentor, Elite BMX Racer Olijuwon Davis.

This was a really good rider profile segment and a great look for BMX Racing!
