ABUS HiDrop Full Face Downhill Helmet

ABUS HiDrop Full Face Helmet

If you didn’t already know, the folks at ABUS not only makes the worlds best locks, they also make some awesome helmets. Their full face HiDrop helmet is a great one for DH and BMX racing. It complies with EN1078, ASTM F1952, ASTM F2032, CPSC, AS/NZ standards. It was developed together with the ABUS team riders and tested on the toughest tracks in the world. Yep ABUS even has a MTB team, pretty cool! The helmet was used at the EWS, the Crankworx World Tour and in the DH World Cup.

The ABS outer shell makes the helmet particularly impact-resistant. Its shock-absorbing function is enhanced by the EPS and EPP core. It also has good ventilation with its vents on the sides of the jaw line area.

In the event of a crash, the break-away visor detaches from the helmet to protect the neck by preventing the head from being thrown backwards or so that the visor does not break.

Features:

  • Goggle Fit: defined area under the peak of the helmet to securely fix goggles so that they do not slip or fall off
  • Bug Mesh: keeps flies and other bugs off your head without messing with the helmet’s ventilation
  • Breakaway Visor: high-quality peak to protect against sunlight and hanging branches – thanks to special technology, it can detach in the event of a fall to minimise strain on the neck
  • Liner Pad: fully-enclosing inner padding for additional protection and a comfortable and secure fit of the full-face helmet
  • Antibacterial Cheek Pads: Cheek Pads fixed with press studs – for more comfort, fewer bacteria, additional protection and a secure fit of the full-face helmet
  • Removable, washable pads: can be removed and washed by hand or replaced if necessary
  • Double-D buckle: comfortable, wide straps are guided through two D-rings for fastening and are therefore infinitely variable and very precise to adjust – extremely reliable hold even with strong vibrations
  • Hard shell application: production process in which the outer, injection-moulded shell made of hard plastic is placed over the shock-absorbing rigid foam, thus ensuring a high level of robustness and protection
