BMX Flatland rider Jay Forde posted this Youtube clip of himself working on getting the Hitchhiker Kickflip trick dialed. That’s no easy task. Dude got me wanting to build a flatland bike.
The elusive hitchhiker Kickflip. I haven’t landed this trick in over a decade. It took two hard 30min sessions to complete again which actually isn’t bad at all considering. After getting the job done a bike flip and backpacker jump feels super easy. Choosing the correct spot to learn this is the key. It’s much easier to perform on a area that will allow the bars to slide instead of digging into the ground. It’s the sudden stop on rough ground that causes most injuries. Keeping the flip clean (no scraping) is the ultimate goal. I’ll get back to you on that….. Pad up and give it a go. ~Jay Forde
