Today’s Bike Of The Day is a sick Standard 125r 24in BMX race bike build submitted by Mike Tollison. I’m loving the color scheme on the frame. The candy green color in the front of the frame, fading to the black color in the back is nice! And that shinny sticker set used on the frame really make it pop! The purple hubs spice things up with its nice contrasting color.
Definitely give this bike a rating for the Bike Of The Month and Bike Of The Year charts.

Inspiration for the build came from a couple factors. Always liked the idea of racing a Standard when I was young and racing. Warwick Stevenson and some of the other guys going super fast at the nationals and at the time the brand was heavily in the street, park, and trail scene. Their involvement in racing was almost seen as a “fringe” brand and I thought that was pretty rad. However, I had sponsors and a “factory Dad” that kept me on the lightest build possible. Now that I’m in my 30’s and returning to racing I wanted the chance to build a bike I always wanted. Also, seeing all the rad builds on your “bike of the day” really pushed me to get started. I reached out to the Custom shop at Standard and Jesse really worked with me to get things underway! ~Mike Tollison
