Riding North Shore Rail Trail In Long Island

I rode the entire North Shore Rail Trail recently and filmed the whole ride going in both directions. The bike path is pretty awesome with with some nice views. I like how the path doesn’t just straight and it has a few nice hills to climb but nothing crazy. There were also some dirt trails that run along the trail in some sections, so you know I had to check them out. I’ll definitely be doing this ride again.

Part 1: East Bound

This is part one of my ride on the North Shore Rail Trail! It’s only 10 miles but it felt long, but that’s usually how it feels when you ride a path for the first time. I thought the path itself would be a little boring but the little turns, hills and cross walks kept it interesting. Not to mention the dear, MTB trails and some other interesting things to see. The ride was actually fun.

Part 2: West Bound

My ride back to Port Jefferson from Wading River was a fun mix of the rail trail, dirt paths and a sketchy bike lane that go really narrow. It was a fun ride. My bike of choice was the Ozark Trail Explorer G1. Yep this bike is still going.
