David Ramey is back at it again with another amazing, custom sidehack build! This time he took the 2024 Torker PRO-X frame and created the most advanced, race ready BMX sidehack to date! Now I thought the Supercross sidehack he sent in last year was amazing but this one is next level. Check out all the details below and makes sure you give it a rating for Bike Of The Year 2024
When it was decided that the re-launch of the infamous Torker brand was going to happen at DirtyFest 2, Bill Ryan – the new caretaker of Torker and MAX – and I knew that we needed a Torker sidehack to bomb down the hill… So, we took the new Torker PRO-X prototype frame, welded it to a fully custom built sidehack, and threw some of the best carbon fiber parts Supercross/Speedline makes at it!
Before the frame arrived, I started making plans with a sidehack builder to build the hack for us, but once the frame was in hand, he ghosted us! So, with only 4 weeks till we needed to hit the road for California, my pilot Nate and I decided that we would do it ourselves. Luckily, Nate is a career welder and my dad had all of the equipment we needed for bending and cutting the tubes in his garage… so, we got to work. We had to build between our regular jobs, so we only had 5 days to get it done and test ride it before loading up. Everything had to be built on a schedule so we could build a section, then I could make templates for gussets and other custom laser cut pieces to be sent off and returned before the next build day. It was a ton of work, but in the end, I’m happy that the hack builder never called back… because we were able to make this something special.
