Nigel Sylvestercontinues to do great things not just for BMXculture but for the local NYC community. He recently partnered with the MTA to campaign about the dangers of subway surfing. The name of the campaign is “Ride Inside Stay Alive”. It was put together with the help of NYC Public Schools and students at the High School of Art & Design. The campaign features illustrated comics that tell the stories of characters whose lives are affected by subway surfing.
I’ve officially partnered with the @MTA on the RIDE INSIDE, STAY ALIVE campaign—a mission dedicated to ending the dangerous trend of subway surfing. Too many of our NYC youth are being seriously injured or even killed while chasing this false thrill.
Together, we aim to inspire young people to channel their energy and craving for adventure into thrilling, yet safe, alternatives that can lead to real opportunities and personal growth.
The campaign features comic book–style storytelling that will be showcased across the city—on trains, throughout subway stations, and on buses.
Don’t be fooled by the false reward. Subway Surfing isn’t worth your life. RIDE INSIDE, STAY ALIVE. ~Nigel Sylvester
