Huffy just announced that “Primus” will be the official name of the prototype frames they’ve been testing and racing with all year. That’s awesome because they’re continuing the legacy of one of their best BMX racing frames to date. Huffy made the announcement during Grands week with a teaser video and the BMX internet went crazy. People have been patiently waiting for a release date and now we know it’ll be sometime in 2026. No exact date yet but I’m sure we’ll know soon enough.
2026 Huffy Primus – Red/Black

I’m loving this two-tone red and black colorway on this frame. The silver graphics add a nice contrast. I like that Huffy is doing the frame with red and black since those were the OG Primus colors.
2026 Huffy Primus Black

The black and silver color scheme looks mean and fast! Definitely an eye turner. I hope they do some of those other colorway’s, like that purple, red and black one Carly Kane was on earlier this season.

What I Know So Far:
So here’s what I know about this frame so far based off my previous article.
- It looks like the down tube and the seat tube are all one piece giving the frame a carbon look
- It looks like this frame will also be using the big T47 Bottom Bracket
- The chain stay features a diamond shaped tapered tubing
- Enclosed dropouts – Should be able to fit 10mm, 15mm or 20mm axles?
- Tapered headtubeIn
- Internal chain tensioners
- Disc only
- Huffy’s pro team (Nic Long, Ethan Popovich & Carly Kane) has been killing it on the track with this frame and the previous V2 prototype frame. Lots of mains and podium finishes. This frame is legit!
GEO SHEET:

This is gonna be awesome but I’m wondering is Huffy will be offering them as completes as well? Guess we’ll find out in 2026!
