New Photos Of The Hyper Mission 2.0 BMX Race Frame

Hyper Mission 2.0 BMX Race Frame

Jerermy Smith posted some new photos of the new Hyper Mission 2.0 BMX racing frame on his Facebook page and it’s looking fresh. This new frame takes what made the Mission 1 a great frame and made it better. And it all boils down to the rear dropouts.

The dropout on the Mission 2 is really big in comparison to most BMX race frames. You can see how far up the seat stay and chain stay the weld points are making for a massive dropout. I like the hollowed-out sections of the drop out to save weight and to add a unique style.

I also like the thickness of the dropouts. Hyper chose a common chain tensioning system that you see a lot on chromoly BMX street/freestyle frames with the tensioning bolt threading in between the seat and chain stay through to the axle. But axle adapters are simple, clean and interchangeable depending on what size axle you run. I’m assuming they have 10,15 and 20mm axle adaptor options and hopefully they come with the frame.

Of course, the frame has internal cable routing, a tapered head tube and it’s disc brake only. I would also guess the seat tube diameter is 27.2. I see a little taper in the seat tube and it looks like they went with a euro bottom bracket. What I really like is the fact that the top tube and down tube pretty much has the same hydroforming that the Mission 1 had, keeping the lineage of the frame going. I’d say the front end of the Mission frame is what makes it a Mission frame. They also kept the bend in the chain stay and beefy seat stay tubing that overlaps the seat tube. I really dig the easter eggs that link the Mission 2.0 to the Mission 1.

Colors and Sizes:

  • Colors: Gray, Black, and Raw – custom color option will be available as well.
  • Top Tube Sizes: 20.5 / 21.25 / 21.75 / 22.5 / 23
