BMXer/Photographer Luis Garcia wend down to one of BMX’s biggest events of the year, The Annual Spring Fling and spotted the 2017 Skyway Street Beat on display!! This is huge news!! People have been patiently waiting for quite some time for new news on the retro edition of the classic Skyway Street Beat frame. We posted an article about this frame about a year ago and almost forgot about it. We like most people didn’t think we were gonna see this happen so this is a very pleasant surprise!!
The All chrome frame features most of the same attributes of the original like the gussett, top tube bend, etched grading on the top tube and platform…and of course the platform its self 🙂 They even kept the brake stay for those vintage style drum brakes. From the looks of the photos, it appears the head tube is integrated but the bottom brackets are either American or Spanish style. The head tube features holes for gyro integration and the forks have 990 mounts. We believe the top tube on the 2017 will be longer, most likely the top tube will be 21.25 and we hope they bring back some of those classic colorways and original decals……that would be awesome!!!
