Huffy Signs Carly Kane For Their Return To Pro BMX Racing!

Carley Kane Huffy Bicycles

Huffy Bikes steps back into professional BMX racing by signing women’s pro Carly Kane! Carly has been making noise on the BMX tracks and the pump tracks on the worlds stage. All that hard work and great riding caught the eye of Huffy Bikes. And now Huffy is set to make some noise in the BMX race world again with the help of Carly!

We are so excited to finally be able to share Carly’s news! She has signed with Huffy and is on a mission to help bring Huffy back to the racing world for the first time in several decades. This is a huge opportunity for her and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

It’s just kind of surreal because I don’t think a lot of people, especially a lot of younger kids, will understand what Huffy is and they won’t know how big they were and how iconic the brand is. I think it’s just unbelievable. Like like even some of the guys from Dk, when I told them, they were like, “Oh wow,” it’s really happening, and still I can’t believe it.

Bill, who owns DK, rode for factory Huffy back in the day, so it’s pretty cool to come full circle. All the guys at DK were super supportive and just super cool about it. So it sucked to leave, but it was cool that they were all really supportive. I don’t know, it’s just, it’s still feels surreal.

For the last three years Huffy has been slowly getting back into BMX racing. They came out with a really nice starter BMX racing bike called the HX Pro. It was a super affordable complete that had really good graphics. That bike caused A LOT of buzz. We featured a supped up HX Pro that had all high-end parts for Bike Of The Day. Then they released the Exist, Axilus and the Enigma. All were solid, affordable race bike that could be upgraded but they only came in a “Pro” kid size meaning not very long. They even made cruiser versions of those models but the question kept coming up, “When will they make XL and XL+ complete sizes for the taller and older riders?”

Then things got a little quiet and now….. BAM!!!! This Carly Kane edit comes out! So I’m assuming its safe to say Huffy is coming with some pro size frames soon? Well they have to at least make one for Carly right? It looks like in the clip she’s riding a DK Zenith which makes sense because DK was her previous sponsor, not to mention, at one point Huffy owned DK.. Either way, I’m excited to see what BMX product Huffy is coming with next.

If you didn’t know, this isn’t the first time Huffy was involved in the BMX racing scene. Huffy sponsored some legendary riders back in the early 80’s and late 90’s into the 2000’s. Riders like Stu Thomsen, Mike King, Gary Ellis and Robby Rupe in the early 80’s. And riders like Cory Nastazio, Mike Laird and Todd Lyons in the late 90’s.

Carly is now part of the new generation of Huffy Pro BMX racers and if I’m correct, she’s the first female BMX pro for the brand! SUPER BIG Congrats to Carly and I’m looking forward to see what you and Huffy have instore for the scene!

So, what are the Huffy pro bikes gonna look like? Will they offer them as completes? Maybe Huffy is coming with some XL and XXL’s or longer? I think it would be dope to see a Huffy HX Pro XXL complete in the Walmart bicycle section. I think it would be a great way to show the general public that there are larger size BMX bikes for older and taller riders. It’s also give the BMX Race style bike in general more promotion and awareness. My first legit-ish BMX racing bike was the Huffy Stu Thomsen which my parents got in a department store. Yep, the department store was were I first saw a bike like that in person.
